Understanding elderly to inspire empathetic innovations
The Asian Insights & Design Innovation unit (AIDI) partnered with us to understand how the elderly in Singapore can use technology to improve various aspects of their daily life. Our experience in ethnographic research and a user-centred approach lead to the creation of an in-depth study titled “Empathetic Technology for Ageing – Rethinking Health & Wellness for the Elderly”. We also facilitated workshops which engaged healthcare stakeholders and technologists understand and better address the needs of the elderly.
- Researched and identified the attitudes, behaviours and challenges faced by the elderly population in Singapore
- Developed a publication, “Empathetic Technology for Ageing” to promote understanding and spark solutions among enterprises and healthcare providers seeking to enhance their approach to health management and care support systems, as well as designers keen to design better products for our growing ageing population.
- Conducted an open innovation workshop, encouraging a collaborative exchange of ideas and knowledge among healthcare providers, technologists and designers.
