PortDeck is an innovative convertible bench-table system designed for cruise terminals. Its space-optimising design maximises baggage-handling capacity during disembarkation before transforming into comfortable passenger seating for embarkation – enabling faster turnaround, greater operational efficiency, and an enhanced passenger experience.

  • Co-created with the project team to define the functionality and solution archetype, developing a first-of-its-kind concept for the industry.
  • Crafted the user experience across key touchpoints between the product, passengers, and operations and maintenance staff, with particular emphasis on safety, usability, and comfort.
  • Identified suitable components, materials, and surface finishes to ensure the product is robust and durable enough to withstand daily use, load impacts, and environmental conditions.
  • Fabricated prototypes and conducted on-site testing to identify weaknesses and develop solutions to improve robustness, durability, and overall performance.
